The Caribbean is a melting pot of Hispanic, African, Asian, Indian and European influences including cassava, lemongrass, coconut, allspice, arrowroot, cilantro, avocado, papaya, sweet potato, corn, yams, okra, callaloo, pumpkin, pigeon peas, oranges, lemons, limes, dates, ginger, figs, sugarcane, pork, beef, breadfruit, nutmeg, bayleaf, mustard, rice, cumin and turmeric.
